KTCI Mission
The primary mission of the Kink Aware Certification Institute is to educate medical, mental health, and sex education professionals on the proper care and understanding of those who identify as gender, sexual, or relationship outsiders.
KTCI Goals
Our goals are to reduce the stigma associated with the “Kink” community and normalize the concept of sexual outsiders in the hopes of increasing awareness, research, and the quality of healthcare for these special populations. We so this with both educational partnerships and development of our own programs.
What is a Kink Aware Provider?
A provider who is kink aware recognizes that BDSM, Polyamory, Swinging and other alternative sexual and lifestyle practices are part of the normal sexual spectrum and is able to distinguish healthy sexual play from non-consensual abuse.
How Does Someone Become Kink Aware?
KAT Providers have additional postgraduate training about alternative sexual expression via, books, articles, continuing education, seminars, websites, etc. KATs are aware what constitutes safe and unsafe play (acknowledging of course that different people have different standards for that). KATs are aware of the roles and role expectations of those who participate in alternative sexual expression lifestyles.
Education is the Key
We believe the tolerance is built through education. Thus, we have compiled a variety of learning resources from Sexperts all over the globe.
Our team has hand curated classes and resources for both professionals and non professionals. Additionally, our team of sexperts and sex educators have developed both individual classes and certification programs.
